Sam is an awesome Optimom coach. She is
a busy mom and an athlete herself, which
gives her credibility. She does a great
job of working with one's potential,
while not focusing on one's limitations
or challenges. In other words, she was
able to see me objectively and not judge
or worry over my beginning fitness
level. Sam has a workout system that is
efficient and effective. An important
concept Sam taught me is to eat for
fuel. This concept does not entirely
exclude eating for pleasure, but day in
day out, I think about the nutritional
value of what I'm eating and does it
provide the fuel to give me energy,
build muscle, hydrate adequately, etc.
Sam's approach is all about health and
wellness, not a size or Madison Avenue
perception of beauty. She's a great
role model and coach. It seems that
when health and wellness truly become a
lifestyle many of the physical goals
seem to follow. When I'm healthy, I
feel better physically, have more
energy, higher self-esteem, and more
patience. The concepts I've learned and
practice with Sam help me to be the mom,
wife, and woman I want to be.

The Optimom program, and more
importantly Samantha Roehrig, pushed my
energy and fitness levels to a place I
thought was long left behind in my
twenties. She showed me easy lifestyle
choices that helped me create the
environment I am proud to be raising my
two young daughters in. I am thrilled
with the way my body looks after two
kids! I also love that Sam showed me
things that even a year after her help I
am still implementing and having success
with! Bring on swimsuit season, I’ll
never fear it again! My energy level
has soared and that makes all the
difference to staying at home with my
kids; I am the mom I have always dreamed
of being. Sam pushed me to new
abilities with improved strength and
stamina that show not only while
exercising, but in every day life as
well. I am happier, more energetic and
a true role model to my kids and those
around me. I love to hear the words
“you never get your body back after
kids,” because I know that you can; you
can have any body you want if you put

Thanks to
Samantha Roehrig’s
Optimom philosophy and routine I have
made huge strides in achieving better
overall health and wellness. I had
recently given birth to twins and also
had a four year old at home. I desired
to lose the “baby weight”, but was also
quickly losing all of my strength due to
poor eating habits (eating drive-through
fast food way too many times a week!)
and no work-out regimen. When I learned
about Optimom, I knew immediately it was
what I needed upon reading the slogan
“Because Motherhood is an Endurance
Sport”! With
Samantha Roehrig’s
encouragement and persistence I learned
to make better, more informed food
choices. I also better understand the
need to maintain an exercise routine,
not only to look physically fit, but to
maintain the strength that keeping up
with an active family requires.

Becoming an Optimom has been an
evolution-- and not always an easy
one. I was a workaholic who took little
time to focus on health and fitness, and
I had a lot of engrained excuses and bad
habits to break. But I wanted to be a
healthy, active role model for my boys,
so I committed to making a change. Over
the past two years, with Samantha’s help
and strategies, I’ve been able to build
on small victories as simple as
remembering to drink eight glasses of
water a day to running in my first 5k
race along side my 7-year old. Changing
your jean size, along with your mindset
can be very empowering!

In September of 2002, my life was a bit
of a disaster. My energy level was at
an all time low, which made motherhood a
chore to say the least. My youngest
daughter was a convenient excuse for my
“extra” skin and my exhaustion. Then,
Samantha enters my world as my Optimom
coach and suggests some crazy things to
me – avoid caffeine, do strength
training and cardio, and fuel your body
more frequently with foods that energize
you. I had absolutely nothing to lose
(maybe a pant size or two), so I decided
to place all of my trust in my Optimom
coach and follow her lead. I truly
began to feel better than I had ever
felt in my entire life. Instead of
napping and drinking caffeine, I began
eating healthy snacks in the afternoons
with my daughters. My energy levels
skyrocketed. Both of my girls and my
husband eagerly adopted my new eating
habits. My workouts became more
productive. Samantha challenged me with
creative workouts specifically designed
for me and my specific goals. She
encouraged me to try new types of
exercise. I am now a faithful student
in both spin and yoga classes. At the
age of 36, I have more energy and
confidence than I have ever had in my
life. Samantha created an energy that
started my momentum, and she has
provided constant support,
encouragement, and challenges to me for
five years.
